However, over time she grew into an adoptive mother figure for the child.She became the sole provider of affectionand encouragement in Ying Zheng’s painful early years.
Her lasting gift was teaching him to manage his synesthesiaby wearing a blindfold, allowing him to block out the suffering of others. Their bond was cut short when Chun Yan sacrificed herself to protect Ying Zheng from an assassination attempt. With her dying breath, she urged him to become the greatest king in the land. This final act made an indelible imprint on Ying Zheng’s mind and shaped his ambitions from that day forward.
Qin Shi Huang Unifies China
Following the death of his biological father,12-year-old Ying Zheng assumed the throne as King of Qin. Though now a king, he kept the blindfold as a reminder of Chun Yan’s love and counsel. Her words pushed him to walk the path he believed in. The defining moment of Ying Zheng’s reign came when he overthrew and annexed the six warring states, unifying China and becoming Qin Shi Huang.

His confrontation with the Demon God Chiyou, a being who claimed authority over the kings of the past, marked his total rejection of the old order. By defeating Chiyou, Qin Shi Huang effectively claimed his place as the first ruler of a unified China, marking the end of a bloody history and the beginning of a new era. His life, marked by pain, abandonment, and the strong influence of his adoptive mother, culminated in his becoming “The King Where It All Began,” setting the course for the future of China.
In Qin Shi Huang’s eyes,a true king is not just a rulerbut an unbreakable rock amidst a raging storm, never bowing, never depending, and forever leading his people from the front. This does sound familiar ashis philosophy is not that different from that of Adam’s, except he sees Humanity as his responsibility being a King. Qin Shi Huang’s philosophy came to life vividly at the end of Record of Ragnarok’s season 2 part 2, where he tore down Valhalla’s walls with resolute determination.
His strength is so immense he could effortlessly fling Ares with one hand. But his prowess is not limited to physical strength. He has the uncanny ability to see the life force, or Qi, coursing through people. He can target the critical points, envisioned as stars, along these Qi trajectories. A hit to these points can disrupt the Qi flow, thus diluting their power.
This unique skill was born out of his rare condition, Mirror Touch Synesthesia. Interestingly,Qin Shi Huang is also the founder of his own martial art form, Chi You. This is a collection of five unique fighting styles revered as the zenith of combat arts. He picked up these moves after his epic face-off withDemonGod Chiyou. To honor his worthy opponent, Qin Shi Huang named his martial art form after him.
