Something’s brewing inCall of Duty: Warzoneand it might not be in the best interests of the fans. It seems like Raven Software is planning something about Ashika Island, a map introduced in the game in February 2023 as part ofModern Warfare IISeason Two.

Call of Duty introduced Ashika Island in Warzone last year.

Interestingly, it was to be bigger than Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep. The map holds some interesting locations, like Shipwreck, where fans can find a recreation of one of the smallest multiplayer maps, dubbed Shipment. While many may not share the love for it as they did for the original Verdansk, the news may come as disheartening for them to some extent.

Call of Duty May Not Bring The Map Back as it is Cut Out For Good

Fishing on Ashika Island is one of the fun things players can do around the map. They don’t even need a fishing rod, as they can just blow them up and feed them to the sea lion. Players enjoyed the sound that statue make.

Microsoft’s Rumored Game Pass Decision a Franchise First for Call of Duty

That’s probably the last time they will do that, as Raven Software might be planning to nuke the map for good. In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the developer said it would remove it from rotation. It instantly sparked a debate as the news further circulated over the internet.

Tsuki Castle is among the favorite locations on the map.

If they are planning to do that, it is less likely thatCall of Dutyplayers will crave it like they do Verdansk. But maybe if they ask for it in the future, they may see it returning in the future, probably inWarzone Mobileas it was the case with the legendary map. Social network Reddit too saw some users frowning over the news and feels like it’s a massive loss.

Raven Software has other plans as they will focus on other map-mode combinations as per the announcement. Hopefully, it’ll be something better for the fans to like.

Fans Are Expressing Love for Ashika Island Over Other Maps

Fans are giving it a final push, not just in the game but on the internet too. The traditional Japanese vibes from the island are unparalleled. Fans have suggested the developers add some sunshine and keep it.

In fact, one user named Nicholas M wants the company to remove Fortune’s Keep, and keep Ashika Island. Similarly, the Reddit community was rife with support for Ashika Island over anotherWarzonemap called Vondel.

One of them suggested developers either remove it or remove all the water from the map. Ashika Island may not be a fan favorite map, but it is safe to say it literally has a separate fanbase if this post is taken into account. Unfortunately, May 23 will be the day it’ll see sunset, better enjoy playing on it now.
