Destiny 2offers so many Exotic armor and weapon options that players could grind for hours on end and still lack a lot of them. Although the true value of particular pieces of Exotic gear is highly dependent on your class, playstyle and other factors, there are indeed parts that provide exceptional powers when they are used in the right build.

On the other hand, there are also fantastic general-use Exotics, which can offer great utility regardless of the build they’re used in. If you’re not sure which pieces would best suit your Hunter build, this ranking of all nine available Exotic helmets for the Hunter class should prove helpful.
9Wormhusk Crown
If you need a helmet that fits into almost every single Hunter build, then Wormhusk Crown is the best you can get as an Exotic gear. The helmet provides additional health and shield bump for your dodges, without limiting the power to any specific Light or Dark subclass.
Adding a four-Energy Recovery mod to this helmet will help you get your lost health back even sooner. If you use this helmet on a Void subclass, you can enjoy a health bump while you are invisible, and buy enough time to get a full recovery of health. The Wormhusk Crown is only held back by the fact that it doesn’t offer any specialized boosts and is perhaps a little lacking offensively.

As another helmet that fits well with almost any build and subclass, Knucklehead Radar is a solid Exotic choice for PvP modes, where you need to know which way the opponents are coming from even when aiming down your sights.
Aside from the ADS radar, you will gain access to a high-resolution radar if you crouch. This could be a wild card for winningthose tricky Crucible matches, by alerting your friends to the enemy’s movements and positioning yourself for an ambush. Again, though, while the Knucklehead Radar is easily splashable in a build, players may get better results with a dedicated pick for their specific playstyle.

7Blight Ranger
If your main subclass is Arc, then you probably won’t find a better helmet for your Hunter character than Blight Ranger. If you are using Arc Staff as your Super ability, this helmet will tweak the attacks that are redirected from the Arc Staff when you hold down the button, thereby defending you from enemy projectiles.
Moreover, the helmet will remove the extra Super usage penalty for doing so. This will make the Hunter a great defensive force, and allow you to protect yourself and your allies against powerful bosses. Other subclasses, however, may be even better served looking elsewhere.

6Foetracer
Playing as Hunter is all about mobility, and that’s what the Foetracer helmet is focused on. Providing a small boost to the airborne effectiveness of all your weapons, this helmet is a valuable add-on to your build.

Moreover, the helmet increases the amount of damage you deal to lower-health targets and visually marks them on screen. The latter boon could be a bit annoying for some players, however, and the bonuses offered here are strictly offensive. The Foetracer is powerful, but it may not offer exactly what a player is looking for.
5Celestial Nighthawk
If you are aSolar Hunter player, it’s highly recommended that you equip Golden Gun as your Super ability before wearing Celestial Nighthawk. This helmet acts as a huge tweak to the Golden Gun, one that could prove particularly beneficial inthose difficult boss fights.
With this helmet on, you will have only a single shot with your Golden Gun. This sounds like a huge downgrade, but the upside is remarkable: If that shot hits the target, it naturally deals a huge amount of damage. Further, if it kills the target, it explodes into projectiles that damage nearby enemies as well. The Super energy this grants is very handy too, making the Celestial Nighthawk a rather niche helmet but one with great potential.

4Mask Of Bakris
ForStasis-main Hunters, Mask of Bakris is probably the top choice. The power that this helmet provides is quite unique compared to all other helmets: It changes your dodge ability to something completely different, allowing you to benefit from a damage buff against enemies that are frozen or slowed down.
Moreover, the Mask of Bakris improves the damage dealt by all Arc weapons for a short duration after using the dodge ability. As something of a bridge between Stasis and Arc builds, this helmet offers something unique to both. There are further options, however, with even more power.

3Cyrtarachne’s Facade
The latest Exotic helmet for Hunters, which arrived with the Lightfall expansion, is indeed a great fitfor various Strand builds. Wearing this helmet simply gives you Woven Mail whenever you use your grappling ability.

Woven Mail is a shield-like material that covers your body, significantly reducing the incoming damage from enemies (excluding the precision hits). This helmet is great for crowded battles where you have to dive into loads of enemies, capitalizing on the mobility of Hunters.
2Assassin’s Cowl
If you’re looking to emphasize stealth play with your Hunter, so you can benefit from becoming invisible and dealing sneaky critical blows, you are advised to wear the Assassin’s Cowl helmet. Granting invisibility for melee final blows along with health and shield restoration is all you need to keep yourself in the fight while you’re up close and personal with your foes.
Assassin’s Cowl is well-suited for every subclass, but Void is the perfect home for this helmet. There’s really only one option available to Hunters that tops it.
1Graviton Forfeit
Similarly to the previous Helmet, Graviton Forfeit is also a great gear for stealth-oriented players. What makes it an even better option is the fact that it passively increases any invisibility effect, no matter where you gain it from.
This helmet is a perfect fit for the Void subclass, as it gives you more time to use your invisibility when you dodge. The best part is that you also gain additional recovery and reload speed while you are invisible, making the player an evasive, deadly powerhouse. The absolute epitome of everything the Hunter should be.
