R6 SiegeY6S2.1 is the very first update for Operation North Star that adds Cross-Play and Cross-Progression features to the game on PC.
Rainbow Six SiegeOperation North Star was officially launched on main servers earlier this month. Adding Thunderbird as another 3-Speed operator to the Defender roster, the new season will also introduce cross-play and cross-progression between PC, Stadia, and Luna as soon as tomorrow.
TheR6 SiegeY6S2.1 update will be out in less than an hour across all platforms. The PC version of the update will include the necessary files for the upcoming cross-play and cross-progression features, but the rest of the changes are yet to be announced.

With Operation North Star, Ubisoft attempts to eliminate some essential gameplay exploits like bullet-hole peeking. The developers also applied some community-asked changes to Melusi, Smoke, Mira, and Maestro, by either nerfing their main gadgets and fixing a few bugs.
This season is also supposed to improve player security with new features in the Streamer Mode, which is currently in the Beta phase.
