Ian Bell, the CEO of Slightly Mad Studios, revealed some new details aroundProject CARS 4in his recent tweets, promising a realistic experience that would return the series to its simulation origins.

Despite the fact that Bell deleted all his tweets aboutProject CARS 4soon after sharing them, some fans managed to take screenshots from the tweets before they were wiped. According to Bell, the new iteration of theProject CARSseries is set to feature the most realistic visuals ever in a simulation racing game.

While Codemasters will likely become a new subsidiary of Electronic Arts, it seems there’s no pressure on the company’s studios for using Frostbite 3 as their development engine, since Bell claimed thatProject CARS 4will be using Madness Engine 2.

Obviously, the series' shift into the 9th-gen consoles will bring a significant graphical improvement to its following entries, but Bell specifically mentioned shadows and shading ofProject CARS 4as one of the exceptional features of the game. On the other hand, the game’s return to the simulation sub-genre is surely a wise decision by the studio, given they were not quite successful with the direction that they took withProject CARS 3.

It’s a bit odd that a studio’s CEO shares some details about their next project and then deletes them, but, you know, this is Slightly Mad Studios.

Currently, there’s no official release date forProject CARS 4since the game hasn’t even been announced yet. Probably, the game is still in the early stages of prouction as the latest iteration launched a few months ago.

Project CARS 3received a 7 out of 10 atDualShockers' reviewand evluated as a potential spin-off for its franchise, but surely not a worthy sequel toProject CARS 2.
