The Alola region has been a long time coming inPokemon GOoutside of the regional forms like Alolan Exeggutor and Alolan Vulpix, and now it has finally arrived with a brand new Collection Challenge to complete alongside it.

Following the conclusion of the months-long Season of Heritage, Niantic revealed what is known as the Season of Alola.

With it comes numerous events in the future focused on the different islands of Alola and makes its debut with not just a Special Research, but also a Collection Challenge to complete.

When Is The Welcome To Alola Event?

The Pokemon GO Welcome to Alola Event kicks off on Tuesday, March 1, at 10:00 am local time and will run for a little over a week until Wednesday, March 9, at 8:00 pm local time.

During this time, there will be increased spawns for the new Alolan Pokemon that have been added to the game, as well as special raids and Field Research to complete.

Welcome To Alola Collection Challenge

As we have seen with the introduction of previous regions of Pokemon, the addition of Alolan Pokemon is starting off relatively small. In fact, there are only five new Pokemon that you will be able to catch in the wild that do not include evolutions.

For the Welcome to Alola Collection Challenge, you are tasked with catching these five Pokemon in the wild or through Field Research encounters for two of them. In addition, there is one additional Pokemon you need to obtain through evolution to make it six in total.

The list of Pokemon needed to complete the Welcome To Alola Collection Challenge are as follow:

As you can see, the five Pokemon you will need to catch for the challenge are Rowlet, Litten, Popplip, Pikipek, and Yungoos. Pikipek and Yungoos specifically will be also available in Field Research, while the other three will be found exclusively as wild encounters.

Lastly, Gumshoos can only be obtained by evolving a Yungoos, which should be fairly plentiful during the event.

Best of luck catching these Pokemon during the Welcome to Alola event, which should not be too overly difficult.
