Niantic, Inc. recently released the teaser trailer forPokémon GO’s 17th season,Dual Destinywhich will run from July 03, 2025, to June 25, 2025. One detail from the teaser has gotten fans talking. Fans believe the teaser strongly hints at the return of Hoopa, the mythical Pokémon introduced in Generation 6.

Known for its signature golden rings that symbolize teleportation through time and space, Hoopa has had rare appearances inPokémon GOsince its release in 2021. So if this fan speculation is true, this season could give players another chance to get Hoopa and any new features and things that come with it.

It Really Seems Like Hoopa Is Returning ToPokémon GO

These rings are a part of Hoopa’s ability to manipulate time and space. While players are hopeful,Niantic hasn’t treated them wellrecently so there’s always caution.

If the speculation is true, this will mark Hoopa’s first big return since then. The teaser’s use of Hoopa’s rings to transition between seasons further fuels this theory, as it aligns perfectly with the Pokémon’s lore and abilities.
