During a recent interview,Blue Beetlestar George Lopez revealed how the actress completely changed his life. He also talked about how, despite being his biggest inspiration, he did not want to meet her.
Idols and Unexpected Meetings
During an on thePolitickin’ with Gavin Newsom, Marshawn Lynch, and Doug Hendricksonpodcast, George Lopez talked about the person who was the biggest influence on his personal and professional life. Giving one of the highest regards to the actress, he confessed thatSandra Bullockwas the reason why he was able to be where he is now.
Despite how much she meant to him, Lopez’s reaction to almost meeting her was quite interesting, to say the least. He mentioned that in the 90s, around the time of his rise to fame, he almost met the actress at a club in Austin.
I was in Austin [Texas] and Sandra Bullock lived in Austin and [Dave] Chappelle had been there the week before. And the manager of the club comes to me and says, ‘I think Sandra Bullock’s gonna come in. She called, she going to come in.

He revealed that while he was there, he was approached by the manager, who told him that the actress had called beforehand and was probably going to come in. The idea of potentially meeting the person he looked up to for years did not bring out a reaction many would expect.
George Lopez Did Not Want To Meet Sandra Bullock
The 90s were not a good time forGeorge Lopez.Talking about it in the interview, he confessed that he was in a very dark place around during that chapter of his life, having been drinking a lot and being a “terrible act.” With this in mind, he did not wish to see the person that he wanted to be like later in his career.
He mentioned that he did not want her to see him at such a low point in his career. Having little to show for the influence Sandra Bullock had on him, he ended up doing the unexpected. Lopez revealed that he got on his knees and begged everyone to not let the actress see him.

I was like, man, I don’t want her to see me like this. You know, I didn’t even know her. I got on my knees in that fucking green room, and I said. ‘Please,pleasedon’t let her.’
While one can safely assume that this was a life-changing moment for Lopez in the worst ways possible, he ended up getting what he wanted and the actress did not end up coming to the club.
