Reddit userphantom-scribblerdecided to take matters into their own hands and get the ball rolling in a plea for Shirley Curry to become immortalized inThe Elder Scrolls VIas a follower. Naturally, a lot of people were on board with this concept given how liked and respected “Grandma Shirley” is in theSkyrimcommunity. This then led to achange.org campaignwhich currently has 1740 signatures and raising every second. The petition reads:
“Shirley Curry is an 82-year-old grandmother who runs her own channel on YouTube (with the help of her grandson). Shirley playsThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, as well as another first-person RPG’s in a way that, is often received as fresh and gentle as well as entertaining and thoughtful…”
“…Sadly, the nextElder Scrollsgame won’t be released until Shirley is 88 years old, which means that unfortunately, she may not get to play it. As Bethesda has demonstrated with another fan named Erik West, they are willing to include dedicated fans of their series into their games.”
Phantom-scribblermade another post on Redditto ask the gaming community for their guidance in helping to make a grandma Shirley themed follower mod forSkyrimas they didn’t want to wait any longer due to the length of time it could take Bethesda.
“A lot of you said we should go ahead and mod her into the game right now. I asked Ms. Curry (Grandma Shirley) and she is enthusiastically on board” said Phantom-scribbler " She has given permission not only to base it on her but to use audio clips from her videos so it’s actually her voice. She’s also agreed to record any specific dialogue the modder might need."
Thankfully, Phantom-scribbler has found a modder willing to take the task on and they’re asking the community for help and support in choosing dialogue and sounds.
