Atlus published on Twitter a new gameplay video forPersona 5 Royal. It’s an excerpt of the scene where the Phantom Thieves are doing the traditional Japanese first shrine visit of the year on January 1. The same scene is shown inthe first trailerandprevious screenshots, but it’s the first time we see direct footage of it.The scene starts with Haru noting how coincidences pile up with each other. Futaba greets everyone saying it’s been forever since they saw each other, but Ann notes that they met just the day before. All of them ended up coincidentally meeting at the shrine. They weren’t planning to meet at all. The scene ends when Yusuke starts rambling about how he got to see pure Japanese beauty, as in the girls in kimono. you’re able to find the video at the end of the article. The following paragraph contains spoilers forPersona 5’s ending, be warned.Atlus is showing this scene taking place on January 1 on purpose, to show how the end of the story has changed. Or seemingly changed, as I’m still convinced most of the new playable January to April part will be some kind oftrippy dream sequence. I’m expecting something similar toPersona 4 Goldenas both gamesshare the same director as well.Ann notes that they all met on December 31, but in the original game’s story, Joker wasn’t with the others at that point.

In related news, today May 17 was the staff only wrap up party for thePersona 5anime. Some of the seiyuu were there and put pics on Twitter. Tae’s seiyuu Yuka Saito tweeted a cute pic of herself with Morgana.
