Originally released back in 2012 on the PlayStation Vita,Persona 4 Goldenwas an enhanced edition of the originalP4which first launched on PS2 in 2008. The PC iteration ofP4Gmarks the first time that the title has appeared on a non-handheld platform. It also marks the second time over the past year that Atlus has opted to start bringing its games to PC, something which the Japanese developer and publisher historically hasn’t done very often. Early in 2019, the puzzle-adventure titleCatherinewas also finally ported to PC and released via Steam as well.
As for what’s new in this version ofPersona 4 Golden, HD graphics and an improved, variable frame rate are two of the most obvious additions to the game. Additionally, and surely to the delight of many fans, a Japanese VO track is now available to toggle on rather than only having the English dub as an option. In the Vita version of the game, this feature was previously not included, making this the first time that the Japanese voice track has come to the West.
