Tite Kubo has always been very lively when making various plot points forBleach.For someone who enjoys drawing as dedicatedly as he does, he puts in his very best no matter how boring or interesting a panel may be. While in most storylines, the author takes extra precautions to make them seem fitting, wanting to leave no plot holes available for fans to ponder upon, it was during the Arrancar arc that many fans found themselves scratching their heads in confusion.
Episode 115 of the anime and chapters 196 and 197 of the manga feature a rather interesting outlook of the Shinigami that fans were yet to see. A rather unusual bunch gathered together at the Karakura High School, all of those who wanted Ichigo to regain his confidence as a formidable fighter.
The Soul Reapers as Students
During the 115th episode ofBleach, Mission! The Shinigami Have Come, fans get to see Rangiku Matsumoto, Rukia Kuchiki, Ikkaku Madarame, Renji Abarai, Yumichika Ayasegawa, and Toushirou Hitsugaya all pose as students at the Karakura High School. While the episode holds its own ground rather well, many would come to wonder how these grown-ups could pass as underage students.
With the exception of the 10th Division Captain, all of them looked too old or peculiar to be high school students. They had mature looks to them, they spoke in a manner that wasn’t what students would expect and they either adorned face tattoos or swords that just wouldn’t work in a high school. At the same time, Hitsugaya looked too young to pose as a student who was in the latter stages of his school life.

While the major flow of the episode follows a serious theme, the constant back and forth between the Soul Reapers adds the humor thatBleachfans love the most. However, it did bring about the question that many fans came to wonder; how did they pass as high school students?
Tite Kubo’s Big Plot Hole was Used as a Comedic Aspect
While the episode was a fun filled adventure, it had a gaping plot hole regarding how these conspicuous people were able to pass as students who were generally supposed to be under the age of 18. At the same time, Toushirou Hitsugaya looked too young, at the same age as Karin.
None of these characters should have even remotely been accepted as high school students yet people fears questioning any one of them. It could be assumed that they were too scared or intimidated and that the teachers simply didn’t care. At the same time, fans pointed out Chad’s existence and how he looks much older than he actually is.

However,Bleachtook this plot hole and turned it into a joke throughout the course of the episode. They weren’t doing a good job hiding the fact that they weren’t students and it added the tone of humor needed to balance out the episode properly.
