Patrick Mahomes didn’t rise to the occasion when the Kansas City Chiefs faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl match. The Chiefs faced an embarrassing loss against the Eagles, with the final score reading 40-22 in favor of the former. Mahomes’ defeat was even more humiliating because President Donald Trump, whom he endorsed, was among the attendees.
Trump’s attendance at New Orleans, Louisiana, for the Super Bowl match was announced earlier. It was a surprise for fans because he had issues with the NFL previously. Interestingly, he also expressed disdain for the new kickoff rule in the NFL in a post from his Truth Social account days before the Super Bowl.

It was Xavier Worthy who attempted some last-minute heroics but the Chiefs’ fate was already decided by then. The Super Bowl game saw some celebrities in the gallery. The two most prominent individuals in attendance were the President of the United States,Donald Trump, and singer & Kelce’s girlfriend,Taylor Swift.
While Trump didn’t have a clear pick of sides ahead of the game, some fans believed that he leaned more towards the Chiefs winning. He had only great words of praise for both Mahomes and Kelce. He shared in a Truth Social post that the Chiefs had“an unbelievable running back”and“the absolute best tight end in football (Ever!)”referring to Mahomes and Kelce respectively.

Several members of the Chiefs and Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Mahomes, have endorsed the MAGA movement. Brittany liked Trump’s Instagram post that outlined the 2024 GOP platform in August. She later shut down her haters after her apparent support to Trump. The President thanked Mahomes for strongly defending him and MAGA back in September (via Fox News).

The Chiefs have earlier lost to the Green Bay Packers in the first-ever Super Bowl and to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021. Those two losses were worse than the current one against the Eagles. They have won four out of their seven Super Bowl appearances, including their last two year’s wins.
