On January 2, a lawsuit was filed in LA Superior Court by a“Jane Doe”, a long-term employee at Fox and now Disney, against The Walt Disney Company, former Vice President of Distribution Nolan Gonzales, and affiliated divisions. The lawsuit includes allegations of s-xual harassment, s-xual assault, retaliation, and various additional claims against Gonzales, seeking compensation for damages.
It has now come to light that the plaintiff is also accusing Disney of negligence concerning Gonzales’ conduct, claiming that multiple managers were aware of the concerning situation.

What Is Going On at Disney?
During her tenure as an executive assistant at Fox under Nolan Gonzales before the 2019 Disney-Fox merger, the plaintiff, going by the name of Jane Doe as per court documents, detailed a series of incidents of misconduct she experienced in the company.
These events allegedly persisted until her medical leave in December 2022, and she was later reassigned to another team or as stated by the plaintiff“demotated”amid Disney’s infamous layoffs period in April 2023. Allegedly, in her twenties when initially hired, Doe claims Gonzales subjected her to sometimes invasive lines of questioning about her dating and personal life.
She further alleges in the lawsuit that Gonzales frequently invaded her personal space and disregarded her boundaries by touching her inappropriately. As per Doe’s assertions, the situation escalated in 2015 when Gonzales allegedly persistently pressured her to go on a date.
It wasn’t until after an investigation was prompted that this whole fiasco would come to light. After Nolan Gonzales allegedly made inappropriate remarks toward multiple women during a 2022 conference, complaints were lodged by several women, including the plaintiff, prompting an inquiry. This led to the plaintiff being interviewed about the matter, ultimately bringing this issue to light.

Disney Chairperson Allegedly Aware of Alleged Misconduct in Lawsuit Against Former Executive
According to the lawsuit acquired byDeadline, it also alleged that the company was aware of the situations occurring. The lawsuit stated,
“Plaintiff overheard a chairperson at Disney say that Gonzales was a pervert and that other women at the company felt the same way. Even though individuals in management were aware of Gonzales’s conduct, they concealed their knowledge from human resources.”
The lawsuit also claimed,
“Plaintiff was not Gonzales’s first victim nor his last. Many employees, including those in management, were aware of his s-xually harassing behaviors to women within the company and to others in the industry.”
Jane Doe’s claims remain unaddressed by both Disney and Gonzales, no further additional information or updates are available on the situation at this moment.
