Marvel’s most anticipated film,Thunderbolts*recently released its first trailer. The upcoming movie has become the center of fan debate about its characters and possible storylines. The short teaser trailer showcased a bunch of familiar characters from the MCU, but one stood out.

Marvel fans have spotted a familiar sign that might prove that the franchise has finally launched Sentry onscreen.

The character of the actor is referred to as ‘Bob,’ and this name is popularly believed to reference the superhero. But that’s not what has set the Sentry theories on fire, a glance revealed a familiar logo. The new logo is eerily similar to the superhero’s official logo, which has fans fully convinced.

Another scene showcased Bob facing a group of armed soldiers. The character’s shirt contained bullet holes, though he stood upright. On being pelted with bullets he remained relatively unharmed, and the casings fell on the floor. This could be a reference to Sentry’s formidable powers from the comics.

Marvel is famous for its diligent work and love for every fleeting detail as well as Easter eggs. These coincidences might be intentional, the chances are high that the studio is bringing Sentry to the silver screen. Though the details of Pullman’s character are not confirmed yet, rumors just might turn out to be true.

Then rumors began to link Pullman with the movie, and questions arose about his character.

Then industry insider, Daniel RPK posted on X that the actor had indeed been offered the role of Sentry. The actor had gained substantial fame with roles inTom Cruise‘sTop Gun: Maverick, Outer Range,andLessons in Chemistry. Later, his casting was confirmed, but his role in the film was not revealed.

All I’ll say is that everyone has their own nicknames and Bob is not his only name. As Lewis is not my only name.

Finally, the rumors were addressed by the actor himself at the 2024 Comic-Con. Pullman talked to Entertainment Weekly(via EW.com)and cheekily revealed that Bob was not his character’s actual name. The rumor mills took it from there and connected Bob with Robert, forming the original theory of him playing Sentry.

Thunderbolts*is scheduled to release on 12 July 2025 in the theatre.
