Ever sinceOne Piecestarted the second part of the story (after the time skip), the filler episodes and arcs have been reduced quite a lot. The last filler arc thatOne Piecefans received was the Marine Rookie Arc during the Whole Cake Island saga in 2017. Since then, there have been a few filler episodes, but they contain canonical events.

Earlier, these filler episodes and arcs were used by Toei Animation to maintain a mandatory gap between the narrative of the anime and manga. However, since the Wano arc,One Piececreators decided that instead of using fillers, they would adapt one chapter (or sometimes even less than one) for the anime to maintain the gap.
Although this may help the story stay canon, it stretches the narrative unnecessarily. Also, there are a lot of plot points in the Egghead Island arc that were left untouched in theOne Piecemanga that the anime can shed light on and create an entire anime-original arc. This would provide a new and intriguing storyline for the fans.

Egghead Island Plot Point That Was Left Untouched inOne PieceManga
Although the main story in the Egghead Island arc revolves around the actions of the Straw Hat Pirates and Dr. Vegapunk on the island, there are other secondary narratives that are also included. These narratives include Eustass Kid’s fight against Shanks, Garp trying to save Koby, Lulusia Kingdom’s disappearance, etc.
One Piece: Luffy Already Has 1 Ancient Energy Inside Himself to Beat the Five Elders That’s Not Mother Flame
Because of these narratives, the main plotline of the Egghead arc got affected, and fans missed out on an intriguing narrative within the story. The narrative focused on the Straw Hat’s battle with the Seraphim along with CP0 agents, York’s revelation as the traitor, and Bonney’s reaction after watching her father’s memories in the PAW room.
These stories started in Chapter 1078, but the next chapterstarted focusing on secondary narratives. And when these secondary plots ended in Chapter 1089, all of the action in the main story was already finished. Fans were disappointed to see that such important narratives were removed from theOne Piecemanga.

Toei Animation Has A Chance To Make It Right
Although fans are annoyed because of the missing narratives, there is still a chance forOne Pieceto make it right with the help of anime. In the past, Toei Animation has always modified the story ofOne Piecea little bit to keep it entertaining for the anime. While they don’t change the central theme, they introduce certain aspects to make it interesting.
They now have the perfect opportunity to do something like this once again and save the complete narrative of the Egghead Island arc. They can focus on important plot points like Luffy’s fight with S-Bear, York’s capture, Bonney’s expanded reaction to her father’s memories, etc. Although the conclusion would be the same, the story would have intrigued fans.

One Piece: What Was the Real Reason Behind Joy Boy and World Government’s Fight?
It all depends on Toei Animation and the creators ofOne Piece. As the serieshas adopted a new style of animationand a new way to maintain the gap with the manga, they can revert back to their old methods by introducing this mini-arc between the events of Egghead Island and saveOne Piece.
