The CW’sArrowversegained a reputation for being low-budget, and nothing embodies this more thanSupergirl. The series has a lot going for her. It had an excellent actress in a lead role; it was adapting the story of a very versatile character and only had to make sure to execute it well. However, the series took a very drastic turn, becoming a cautionary tale for what can go wrong when making a show.

The dialogue became well-known for being cringe-worthy. The acting went drastically down in quality, making the show difficult to watch, and most famously, its visual effects were almost laughably horrible. Since its cancellation, it has stayed out of public conversation. Although, the topic surrounding its painful fall from grace is brought up time and again.

Recently, a post made many fans remember just how bad the show was during its airing, reigniting the hate that it gets frequently.

Supergirl’sConcerning CGI

When one is putting out a superhero series, it is important that the visual effects are pleasing to look at. While no viewer expects them to meet the standards ofThe Avengersfilms, the effects should at least be believable. However, CW’sSupergirlfamously had scenes that were visually off.

Fans grew tired of the dialogue and the odd effects very early into its run, and it began to lose its audience. As its viewership declined, so did the quality.Kenny on Xrecently posted a clip fromMelissa Benoist’sseries, and nothing showcases the problems that the show had better than this.

Fans who used to watch the series are truly surprised at the quality, having forgotten just how bad it actually was.

Fans Forgot AboutSupergirl’sCGI

After the clip fromSupergirlwas posted online, fans could not believe just how bad its effects were. Initially, many doubted if the clip was even real. They did not think that a network would release such bad content for the world to see. However, after they realized that the entire sequence was actually from the series, they were quite concerned.

Many fans joked that the budget for the series’ visual effects was very low, going as far as to say that it was $5. Others felt melancholic about the lost potential of the show, knowing just how interesting a character Kara Zor-El really is. They also took the example of Reign’s story, they pointed out how excellent it can be when it is tried.

However, according to fans, not enough thought was put into a lot of aspects of it. They criticized every aspect of it, stating that the directors were not very skilled. Fans even joked that they could make better-looking shows from their homes.

Well the CW literally only had $5 and a dream, but they were the first to start putting major cgi sequences on TV, which was unheard of.
