But in a surprising twist, the MMORPG’s director, Naoki Yoshida, better known as Yoshi-P, confessed that Honey B. Lovely is not to his personal taste, despite her immense popularity among players. He did make it clear that it’s a matter of personal taste though. He appreciates how beloved she has become to fans.

Lovely switches seamlessly between charming her audience and threatening her opponents with phrases like, “No hard feelings if I kill you?” Her whimsical performance is underscored by her infectious anthem, a pop track that has players eagerly returning to the fight just to hear it again.

Despite Honey B. Lovely’s popularity, Yoshi-P revealed in a Gamescom interview withPCGamesNthat he isn’t a fan of her character. “Not really to my liking, sorry,” he remarked. While Yoshida’s distaste for Honey B. Lovely might seem surprising, it’s rooted in his personal preferences rather than her execution. “I don’t really like characters who do this,” he says about her flirtatious nature and cutesy gestures.
While Yoshi-P appreciates the community’s love for her, he admitted that he’s more drawn to other characters in the Arcadion series, such as Brute Bomber, a heel wrestler with a powerful theme song. Nevertheless, he acknowledged the overwhelming positive response from the community, calling it a relief. “She’s a really standout character, and it turns out that a lot of people really like that,” he said toGameRant.

The Arcadion’s pro-wrestling-inspired theme has been praised for its creativity and humor. Yoshi-P revealed that the concept initially made him nervous, unsure if fans would embrace its playful approach. Thankfully, the distinct personalities of the raid bosses have resonated with players.
Honey B. Lovely is a great example of this, blending humor, charm, and over-the-top theatrics into a package that has resonated deeply with players. A big part of Honey B. Lovely’s appeal lies in her theme song, “Bee My Honey,” a pop anthem that has quickly become a favorite among players. We hope to see herin the mobile launch too.
