After Makima’s death,Chainsaw Manmanga went on a hiatus. But later returned with a second part. The fans were excited to see how Denji’s life progressed. He was shown to live with the Control Devil’s reincarnation, Nayuta. He took care of her and fulfilled all her needs. The fans were surprised to see that he had left his Devil Hunting days before.
But there was no peace for him since the War Devil was looking for him, the Chainsaw Devil. Since then, the manga has been going through an interesting phase. The latestChainsaw Manchapter featured Denji lying on a hospital bed in a horrible state. Even though he wanted to get out, he could not due to the authorities. The chapter also teased the return of an old character that the fans had missed.
A War Might Take Place To Rescue Denji
Chainsaw Manchapter 156 starts with Denji waking up on a hospital bed and looking out the window. He saw a helicopter flying by and suddenly realized that Nayuta was not with him. He called out to him only to find Hirofumi Yoshida, a Public Safety Devil Hunter, watching over him. He asked him twice about Nayuta, but Yoshida could not tell where she was. Denji tried to get out of bed but could not walk due to excruciating pain.

Yoshida patted his head and revealed that he had been asleep for a week. He told Denji that he brought the disaster upon himself since he was warned to not reveal his Chainsaw Man self, and breaking the rules always has consequences. Hearing this, Denji passed out. Yoshida meets Fumiko Mifune, who congratulates him for using a sedative on Denji while patting him on his head. Mifune is a collector and wanted to add Denji’s hair and nails to her collection since Public Safety decided to dismember him.
Then, the panel shifts to Pochita conversing with Denji while the latter is unconscious. The latter wants to go out and save Nayuta, but Pochita asks him how he would go out without legs. Then, it was revealed that his right leg was cut off, and the doctors were planning on doing the same thing with his left leg. The hospital was revealed to be the Tokyo Devil Detention Centre, with a Special Division agent present to restrict Denji’s escape.

The Special Division agent mentioned that the Tokyo Devil Detention Centre is heavily guarded and no devil has ever escaped after entering the institute. He went on to say that it would take a war to break out of the facility. Then, the panel shifted to a character standing outside the facility, and only their legs were shown.
Fans Are Speculating Asa Mitaka’s Return inChainsaw Man
After mentioning the war, the panel shifted to the mysterious character’s legs. Fans believe that the mysterious character is Asa Mitaka. Asa Mitaka is the host of the War Devil, Yoru. They might have come to break out Denji of the Tokyo Devil Detention Centre. The socks and shoes match that of Asa Mitaka. If it is her, it would be a great twist in the plot.
Not Aki or Makima, Another Chainsaw Man Character Might Still be Alive
Tatsuki Fujimotois doing a great job with the manga. Everything is hinting at Asa Mitaka’s return. Everything will be revealed in TheChainsaw Manchapter 157. Denji would need to consume blood to regain his lost limbs, so if Asa brings out the War Devil, Denji will have enough blood to become the Chainsaw Man and assist her in becoming the first one to escape from the facility. But her return is still just a possibility until the official confirmation.
