Of all the fall anime that was supposed to be released this autumn 2024 season, Muneyuki Kaneshiro’sBlue LockSeason 2 was one of the most anticipated sports series. However, with the very first episode of the 2nd season, fans realized that their patience was for nothing because 8 Bit presented a massive downgrade in animation.

The new season has been thoroughly criticized by fans because it featured a massive change in its art style. Hence, the fandom mocked the series that featured PowerPoint-style animation where they animated pages from the manga. Thus, denting the popularity of the series, which once held the power to change the genre.

Even though the second season of the show has left a bad taste in the viewers’ mouths, watching the fan animation rejuvenated their thoughts. They were bewitched with the footwork, which 8 Bit Studios never bothered to show despite the show’s primary focus on football.
The animation received immensely positive reactions from the fans, who were immensely frustrated with the show’s poor animation quality. They commented,
This is way better than how it was animated by the studio
Must be easy to not have to include dialogs as well. Would like to see him now try and do this with them included like the studio did
Much better than the PowerPoint made by 8-bit, Isagi looks insane, congratulations to the creator
You know, just make him the art director or something…

Nevertheless, the series has many awkward situations that the studio can’t overcome anymore. However, the studio can repent its shortcomings in the third season by going back to the original animation style that opened the doors of opportunity for the series.
