Nightingale
How To Recruit Survivors
Players can recruit followers by completing a small mission for them. These come in two flavors that we’ve discovered so far.
Defense Missions
Typically located in a castle or a defensive structure, these missions involve defending an extraction device from hordes of enemies. There will be two recruitable followers at every defense mission, and they will help with the defense themselves as well. To start a defense mission, you’ll need to talk to one of them and trigger the mission before the enemies start coming.
Repair the extraction device using the hammer to keep it in good condition after every wave.

Aid Missions
You’ll need tohelp a Survivor build a structureof their choice. The structure will be nearby, and its placement will be apparent by the light blue glow showing an incomplete building or furnishing. These can range anywhere from crafting a bedroll to making a mansion.
Finding Defense & Aid Missions
While you can chance upon one of these missions while you’re out exploring, the fastest way to find these missions is by completing theFae Towerof the local realm to reveal all points of interest on that map. Fae Towers are essentially the boss areas of any realm, and you’ll want to be sufficiently prepared before approaching them.
Once a Fae Tower is complete allBastille of Insight,Intellect, Aid, Defense, andOccupationmissions will be revealed on the map. Hover over their icons to reveal their nature.

How To Use Survivors
Survivors are excellent helpers if you know how to use them. The most impressive thing about them is thatthey don’t have a carry limit. Their inventory space functions the same as an inanimate container. This means you can load them up with 1000 kg of weight, and it wouldn’t make a difference. This means that you can make themcarrymultiple stacksof 100 Wood in their backpack and make them bring back an entire forest without them breaking a sweat.
On top of that, these companions are alsoexcellent woodcutters. Give them an axe, and they’ll chop down any tree they see.Giving them weaponsis also a good idea as they can fight for you. However, remember toselect equipany weapon you give them, or they won’t use it.

What Happens After You Dismiss A Follower
After you dismiss a survivor, they willroam around in therealm you left them in. You can talk to them again to recruit them a second time. You won’t need to complete a mission for them twice. Once a survivor becomes recruitable, they stay that way.Anything you leave in a follower’s inventory will remain in their inventory. However, to access it you’ll need to recruit them again.
