Still, not every romance in Naruto was as iconic and beloved as others, from tragic lovers who did not get their happily ever after to couples that no one expected but turned out great. Below, we will discuss some of the healthiest and most doting relationships in the Shinobi World.

10Hayate And Yugao
Not many fans of the show are aware of this short-lived but intense relationship. Hayate was one of Konoha’s ninjas who acted as a proctor duringthe Chunin Exams that took place in Konoha. During this time, he found out about the Sand Village’s betrayal of the Leaf, which led to his death at the hands of Baki.

Yugao, one of Konoha’s Anbu, was in a relationship with Hayate at the time. She swore vengeance for the death of her beloved, but her revenge sadly never came. The couple was reunited during the Fourth Great Ninja War when Hayate was revived by the Edo Tensei. Unfortunately, we know almost nothing about this duo, as both were mostly forgotten.
9Fugaku And Mikoto
For many years, these two lovers acted as the head of the Uchiha clan, making most of the difficult decisions for their family. While Fugaku was a severe and demanding partner and father, Mikoto was a kind and loving wife and mother. They balanced each other out perfectly.
Even during the toughest moments, they remained loyal to each other, with Mikoto supporting her husband even whenhe was planning a coup against Konoha. Nonetheless, Fugaku’s strict parenting and Mikoto’s passive attitude towards her husband’s treatment of their children did cause a rift in their family.
8Hashirama And Mito
Sometime after the Hidden Leaf Village was founded, an alliance between Konoha and Uzushiogakure was born. To seal this new partnership between the villages, the First Hokage, Hashirama, married the daughter of the Uzumaki Clan’s head, Mito.

While this couple was born as a way to prevent wars between the villages, Hashirama and Mito grew to truly care for and love each other. They even went to battle together during the Uchiha attack. Tragically, most of their time as a couple is still shrouded in mystery, as we only saw their time together through Hashirama’s flashbacks.
7Tsunade And Dan
Being the Hokage is a dangerous job that requires you to put the safety of the village before your own life. That is why only those with the kindest hearts can aspire to be the leader of Konoha. Dan, Tsunade’s past lover, was a kind soul who wished to become Hokage to protect the village he called home.
Tsunade was madly in love with him, supporting his dream without hesitation and aiding him in combat. During a battle, Dan was mortally wounded in a way that even Tsunade could not repair. He died in the arms of his girlfriend, proclaiming that he would always love her. This is one of the most tragic couples in the show, despite not much being known about their time together.
6Sasuke And Sakura
Since the beginning of the show, it was made clear that Sakura was deeply and madly in love with Sasuke. At first, this attraction was based solely on the boy’s looks and personality. However, as they got closer, Sakura and Sasuke began to understand each other. Despite the Uchiha’s refusal to admit it, he truly cared for the pink-haired girl.

When Sasuke betrayed Konoha tobecome more powerful, their relationship became rocky, with Sakura trying to let go of her crush and Sasuke trying to kill her and Naruto. By the end of the show, Sasuke apologized to Sakura for what he did, beginning a relationship that would end with them getting married. Sadly, it is hard to forget that Sasuke tried to kill and harm Sakura on more than one occasion.
5Ino And Sai
Most fans were shocked when the relationship between the charismatic Ino and the stoic Sai was confirmed. Due to his sheltered life as a member of Root, Sai grew up without acquiring any social skills. He tried his hardest to learn how to make friends by following the advice in a book. This caused him to call Ino beautiful during their first encounter despite not feeling attracted to her.
Nevertheless, this was enough to make the blonde girl fall in love with Sai. We have little information as to how their relationship progressed, but what we know is that by the end of the show, they were happily together. It would have been great to know more about this wholesome couple and when they began dating, but alas, we will most likely never know.
4Naruto And Hinata
Years before the start of the show, a young Naruto saves Hinata from a band of bullies that were trying to harm her. From that moment on,the kind and meek Hyuuga heiressbecame infatuated with the Uzumaki boy. She spent years trying to get Naruto to notice her and her feelings for him. When Pain attacked Konoha, Hinata finally found the courage to confess her feelings for Naruto.
A couple of years passed without anything noticeable happening between the two. It was not until Toneri kidnapped Hinata that Nartuto realized how much he loved the girl, who would marry him sometime later. Unfortunately, some fans complained about this paring feeling as a bit forced seeing as Naruto did not act on his feelings for Hinata for years.
3Kurenai And Asuma
The straightforward and responsible sensei of Team 8, Kurenai Yuki, was normally annoyed by how laid-back the leader of Team 10, Asuma, appeared to be. During their times as teachers of their respective teams, both of these respectable Shinobi’s ideals clashed several times. Yet, as the saying goes, opposites attract, which is why they end up becoming one of the most beloved couples in the show.

For several seasons, fans witnessed how these two teachers went from occasional friends to tight-knit lovers, to the point that Kurenai became pregnant with Asuma’s child. Woefully, Asuma left this world before his time at the hands of Hidan, preventing him from spending time with his family.
2Temari And Shikamaru
The short-lived war between Konoha and Sunagakure brought with it many tragedies but also new beginnings. When they first met, Temari and Shikamaru were opponents on the Chunin Exams. During this match, Shikamaru gained Temari’s respect by proving his maturity and high intelligence. They would not see each other again for months until Temari arrived to save the Nara boy from Tayuya.
Due to Temari’s position as Sunagakure’s Ambassador, she and Shikamaru started spending plenty of time together. While they both were reluctant to admit it, this closeness caused them to develop feelings for each other. With Temari’s diligence, Shiamaru became several times more efficient, and Temari learned to relax more often. However, their stubbornness caused them to become a couple long after they should have.
1Kushina And Minato
Kushina’s childhood was not easy, seeing as her clan was eradicated, her classmates bullied her, and she was a victim of an attempted kidnapping. Thankfully, she was not alone in dealing with all these hardships, as she had the kind and loyal Minato by her side.
Although their first encounter was somewhat rocky, they both quickly learned how much they meant to one another. At every step of the way, Minato and Kushina were there to support each other’s dreams and goals. Even after Minato became an enemy of several Elemental Nations, Kushina stayed by his side, pushing him to achieve his dream of becoming a Hokage. There is no doubt that fans love how wholesome and adorable Naruto’s parents were as a couple.
