MultiVersus May Be One of the Biggest “What Ifs” in Gaming
MultiVersusfirst launched in open beta on July 26th, 2022. Despite being in beta, the team at Player First Games promised that the game would remain live as they built towards its official launch.
Advertising for the game was everywhere, and it was starting to develop a following thanks to the absurdity of Bugs Bunny beating up Superman. It achieved a peak of over 20 million players by September 2022, but that number would decline due to a lack of updates during the open beta.

Warner Bros. To Focus on Hogwarts Legacy, Mortal Kombat, Game Of Thrones and DC For Games
Warner Bros, has said that they are reducing game releases, and will instead focus on four brands to improve their success ratio.
However, Player First Games eventually backtracked on its promise and took thegame offline in early 2023before its full launch on May 28th, 2024. With fans unable to access the game for over a year, all the momentum was killed. By the time it relaunched, the game had underperformed expectations, and fans had resisted itsugly monetization.
