These Major Disses at Drake in Kendrick Lamar’sEuphoriaAre Mind-Boggling

Kendrick Lamar‘s new songEuphoriais the latest news headliner in the long-standing rivalry between him and Drake. K. Dot seems to have had enough of Drake’s constant bickering about him in hisdual diss tracksthat were released last month. “But I don’t think he is a better rapper”: Lupe Fiasco Settles the Drake vs Kendrick Lamar Debate

Lamar seems to be taking shots at Drake for the alleged friendships and interactions he has with underaged girls (most notably with Millie Bobby Brown when she was 13). In one instance Lamar calls Drake a scam artist who constantly seeks acceptance, as he raps,“You not a rap artist, you a scam artist with the hopes of being accepted”, even questioning Drake’s ‘ black-ness’ with his outfit choices.

The line“How I make music that electrify ’em, you make music that pacify ’em”points out the differences in the music they make. While Lamar claims he makes music that electrifies fans, he criticizes Drake for making music for kids and ones that put people to sleep. He also mocked Drake for Tupac’s ring at $1 million (viaSmithsonian Mag), which according to him, made Tupac angry. The line goes

“Somebody had told that me you got a ring, on God, I’m ready to double the wage / I rather do that, than let a Canadian n**** make Pac turn in his grave”

Lamar is not a fan of Drake in general (how he dresses, talks, and disses other artists. He expects that his new songEuphoriawill be like a headshot to Drake’s head that will make him become like Daft Punk ( wearing a helmet). The lines go,

“I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk / I hate the way that you dress / I hate the way you sneak diss, if I catch flight, it’s gon’ be direct…Headshot for the year, you better walk around like Daft Punk”

In the ending parts of the song, Lamar warns Drake to not come against or diss any of his dear friends and family saying,“Don’t speak on the family, crodie”. Lastly, he declares that he is ready to face any of the Toronto rapper’s friends and even the industry if they come to get him. Lamar’s track proved to be the ultimate diss track and Drake has a hard act to follow if he decides to clap back.
