Modern Warfare 2andWarzone 2features numerous Assault Rifles, and it is clear that each provides its own unique benefits in certain scenarios. While the M4 and the Kastov-762 are remarked as some ofthe best Assault Rifles in the game, the Lachmann-556 is another runner-up for the title. This gun is great for long-range combat –much like the Kastov-762– and is the very weapon required to unlock the Lachmann Sub.

TheLachmann-556is an Assault Rifle possessing mostlyaverage stats, not necessarily excelling in any one category. While other Assault Rifles like theKastov-74U exceed its damage at close range, the Lachmann-556 is arguablythe most reliable choice for medium-to-long-range combat. However, the main drawback of this gun is its incrediblyslow reload timeand high recoil.

Unlocking The Lachmann-556
The Lachmann-556 cannot be unlocked by simply reaching a certain rank, as it is a part of theLachmann & Meer Weapon Platform. Therefore, players will need to progress through this Weapon Platform to unlock it. The first step you will take is tounlock the Lachman-762, a Battle Rifle that is rewarded atLevel 16. Next, all you have to do is reachWeapon Level 13with the Lachmann-762 to finally gain access to theLachmann-556.
To Level up weapons in Modern Warfare 2, players will need to gainWeapon XP, which is awarded for completing in-game actions that also award regular XP. However, the fastest and quickest way to gain Weapon XP isthrough gaining eliminationswith the gun you wish to level up. This can be done in all respective game modes –including Warzone 2.0 and DMZ– with DMZ being an exceptionally lucrative source of Weapon XP.

Fast Hands
For your first Base Perk, we recommend usingScavenger, which allows you toresupply your ammunition from eliminated players. This is great for racking up your killstreaks, and even for players who want to go for MGB nukes in Multiplayer. The second perk we recommend isDouble Time,which will improve your mobility by allowing you totactical sprint for longer.
Next, go ahead and equipFast Hands. By default, the Lachmann-556 has the slowest reload speed out of all the Assault Rifles, and an extended magazine attachment decreases the speed even further. Therefore, using Fast Hands as your Bonus Perk willincrease your reload speed, minimizing the risk of being caught whilst performing that action. The last perk we recommend isQuick Fix, which speeds up your health regeneration after gaining eliminations.
For Warzone 2 however, consider choosing one of two preset Perk Packages. The first isWarden, which comes withDouble Time, Strong Arm, Fast Hands, and Quick Fix. But, if you want to equip an additional primary right from the get-go, then chooseWeapon Specialist for Overkill.
Secondary Recommendations
For your secondary slot in regular Multiplayer, consider running alauncher capable of taking out enemy aircraft. This will help keep the skies clear of enemy UAVs and keep your team off the mini-map. The two best options are thePILA and the JOKR, as they are fully capable of locking onto vehicles.
For your Warzone 2 loadout, consider taking either a weapon from either the Submachine Gun or Sniper Categories. SMGs liketheFennec 45andtheLachmann Subare great for close-ranged gunfights, due to their high DPS and mobility. When it comes to the Sniper Category, our top picks aretheMCPR-300andtheVictus XMR.
