An accidentally misleading print ad forMetroid Prime 4: Beyondhas been quietly updated, ruining fans’ dreams of being able to play Samus in the near future.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond currently has a2025 release window. Considering that theNintendo Switch 2and its predecessor have a dry holiday period, withPokémon Legends: Z-Alaunching in October, there’s a good chance it will have a November or December launch. It’s also possible that it was intended to be a Switch 2 launch game, but got delayed out of that timeframe.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Gameplay Reveals New Twist for Samus
The highly anticipated Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is still coming to Nintendo Switch later this year.
What fans weren’t expecting was for Nintendo to shadow-drop one of the Switch line’s most anticipated games. Or at least, this is what a poster for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, seen on the London Underground, claimed, stating that the game was now available. A user on the Metroid Reddit has since visited the advert, and it has been altered.

What Happened With The Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Ad
The poster now has a more accurate “2025” release date. Based on the position of the “Out Now” from the previous photos, it seems that it may have been a sticker or similar cover, one that could be used in the future when the game’s actually out.
How such a colossal blunder occurred is unclear, but it seems that Nintendo’s ad department was quick to get it fixed. Unfortunately, it also seems to shoot down the idea that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is coming out soon, especially as Nintendo is hyping upDonkey Kong Bananza, whichlaunches in July.

It’s strange that this mix-up happened, especially as Nintendo has yet to give any kind of solid release date for the game, outside of this year. It’s possible that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will launch in the Summer, sometime between Donkey Kong Bananza and Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Then, the poster can be updated when it’s out.
Whatever the case, Metroid Prime 4: Beyondisn’t out now, and the people who have waited since 2017 for the return of Samus in a first-person adventure are going to be holding out for a bit longer.
