“Crafting table!”. The famous quote fromMinecraft Stevein the Minecraft Movie is now in the Minecraft Game, with the help of a mod that was described by its creator as “3 hours of my life that I’ll never get back.”

The idea for the mod, like many works of art, started from someone making a joke online. With how many trailers for the Minecraft Movie we’ve gotten,Jack Black’s version of Stevehas said the names of many commonly-used items. This formulated a devious plot.

Crafting table!

What if, hypothetically, the appropriate line was played every single time the player interacted with an applicable in-game item? For example: if the player were to throw some wood planks into their crafting inventory, place down the resulting bench, and interact with it - would it not be better to hear Jack Black’s voice on three separate occasions?

The mod’s creator, Snailman, intends to release the thing onModrinth- but there are still a few hoops to jump through in that regard.

Final Baffling Minecraft Movie Trailer Shows Off A Block Filled Nightmare… And Pandas!

With Minecraft’s first movie a month away, fans got a head-scratching final look at the blend between Minecraft and live actors, to mixed reactions.

First, the above clip didn’t have all the necessary (very necessary) sounds that a mod like this would require. Second, the mod does actually need to get approval from Modrinth to be available for all. That approval iscurrently pending, and surely a mod as vital as this will make it through the process.

We do have a second clip that sheds further light on the mod’s design. Ordinarily, when the player loads in, they hear “Steve” declare his name to the world. This happens whenever the players loads into a dimension. But, the dimensions also have names, and that poses a problem.

Which line should Steve say? Does he value his mortal form over the immortal majesty of the Nether or the End? Jack Black’s Steve is not unaware of his might, though nature is always worthy of respect. And so, both lines are given equal weight.

An honorable choice.

Whenever Modrinth decides to approve this mod, it’ll be met with a fairly significant audience. Snailmain has earned over 15 thousand likes on his posts, and his work has been reported on byPC GamerandGamesradar.

Minecraft: 10 Things To Do After Beating The Ender Dragon

Just defeated the Ender Dragon in Minecraft and feel like your journey has come to an end? Well you’re sorely mistaken.

The voice of Jack Black as Steve will reach our ears, even before the actual release date of the Minecraft Movie from which this all spawned.

The actual Minecraft movie comes out in just under a month, on April 4th of this year. The mod lacks a proper release date, but has a very definitive “soon” - one likely better measured in hours than days. And from there, Minecraft will finally becomeproperly immersive.
