How did Matt Damon’s cameo save a life?

Directed by Jeff Schaffer,Eurotripspun around Scott Mechlowicz’s Scott Thomas, who was cheated on by his girlfriend Fiona, played by Kristin Kreuk, andMatt Damon’s Donny. Scott comes to realize their affair at his graduation party when Donny, a band singer, performsScotty Doesn’t Knowin front of the crowd.

Following the scene, the track became a classic among fans of that era, still to be heard among the millennial crowd today. Band Lustra’s Nick Cloutman opened up about the interesting stories people have come to them with that revolve around the song. Hence, he spoke of a woman who recovered from a coma after hearingScotty Doesn’t Know. According toUproxx, Cloutman said a woman from somewhere around the Midwest or Indiana was in a car accident and slipped into a coma, given the severity of her injuries.

Narrated to them by her friend, Cloutman recalled,

“This girl was dragged out of the car by paramedics and was put on a stretcher and ultimately went into a coma. As she was slipping into this coma, her phone started ringing and she had the ‘Scotty Doesn’t Know’ ringtone. In her dazed state, she started singing along to it. It’s one of those things where you don’t consider you’re going to be attached to something that has this positive meaning for people.”
