There are loads of surprises in the series, with a bunch ofHarry Potter referencesand eerie similarities between Innocent Zero and Voldemort. But the real shocker would be finding out the actual link between Innocent Zero and Mash Burnedead. Most of you already know that Mash was adopted by Regro Burnedead, so his background is a big question mark. This piece has got all the answers we’ve been looking for!
Background
Innocent Zero was once a classmate of Wahlberg, under the tutelage of the great wizard Adam Jobs, the founder of the modern magical society. However, a tragic backstory (which Mash interrupted satirically in chapter 159) proved to be a turning point in his personality. A brief manga panel revealed that Innocent Zero was struggling to control his immense power, and Wahlberg caught him murdering someone.
Years later, Innocent Zero formed his cult, freeing many prisoners from a high-security jail under the Bureau of Magic’s command.The Innocent Zero group is infamous for every evil act imaginable. In addition, Innocent Zero created a clone by feeding his blood to a dead body – Cell War, his loyal right-hand man.
But perhapshis most selfish creations (as we’ll explain below) are his six sons: Doom, Famin, Epidem, Delisaster, Domina Blowelive, and Mash Burnedead. Though born from the same entity, their powers took unique and quite fearsome forms. Mash Burnedead is the strongest in body, an unstoppable juggernaut of flesh and bone. In a direct contest of strength, none could surpass Mash. Only Doom, the eldest son, comes close: he uses magic as a weapon to make up for what he lacks in physical might.
Innocent Zero’s ambitions are strikingly similar to those of Voldemort from the Harry Potter series and Father fromFullmetal Alchemist. Like Voldemort, Innocent Zero seeks immortality, and he has created a sinister means to achieve this goal. His six sons' hearts serve as a parallel to Voldemort’s Horcruxes. By absorbing these Horcrux-like creations, Innocent Zero aims to gain eternal life.

Furthermore, both Father and Innocent Zero create offspring for their self-serving purposes: Innocent Zero has children for his own benefit, while Father creates the homunculi to purge his perceived flaws and achieve ultimate power. Despite their family ties, neither character shows concern for their offspring’s well-being. Their ruthless actions and Machiavellian schemes reflect a single-minded determination to realize their desires, regardless of thecostor consequences.
