Crunchyrollannounced on Tuesdaythat it will be streaming theMashle: Magic and Musclesanime when it premieres this April. It alsoposted a new trailerfor the series alongside this announcement.

Hajime Komoto’s Mashle manga began running inShonen Jumpback in January 2020. The story concerns a world of magic and the school in which children learn about it. Main character Mash Burnedead is a young man born without magic, who attends the school to prove that the strength and muscles he’s trained through his whole life can stand up against the magic of the world.

The Mashle manga has been working through its final arc since the middle of last year, with the fifteenth volume shipping this month. The anime adaptation of the series was alsoannounced last July, with a teaser trailer posted and a confirmation that the series would release sometime in 2023. Now Crunchyroll has provided more details about the release, confirming that the Mashle anime will air as part of the spring 2023 anime season starting in April, and that it will be streamed in English through the streaming service.

As part of the announcement, Crunchyroll also posted a new English-subtitled trailer for the Mashle anime. Taking the form of a short aside sequence involving cream puffs, the trailer gives us our first properly animated look at Mash and the students of the Easton Magic Academy.

Crunchyroll’s post also confirms the staff and cast for the series. The anime will be directed by Tomonari Tanaka, who handled last year’s Engage Kiss anime. Yousuke Kuroda, who wrote all six seasons ofMy Hero Academia’s anime adaptation, will be on scripts for Mashle. Character Designs will be byBlue Lock’s Hisashi Higashijima, with music by Masaru Yokoyama. The anime will be produced by A-1 Pictures. Mash will be voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi, who had previously played the titular character in the Moriarty the Patriot anime, as well as Langa in Sk8 the Infinity. Others include Reiji Kawashima as Finn Ames, Kaito Ishikawa as Lance Crown, Takuya Eguchi as Dot Barrett, and Reina Ueda as Lemon Irvine.

While the exact release date for the Mashle anime has yet to be confirmed, more information on the series will likely be revealed as April draws closer.
