From Dr. Octopus to Thanos, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is full of iconic villains that the fans love to hate. Over the course of 16 years, the MCU has introduced a number of faithful adaptations from comic books. While the current phase of the superhero franchise was questioned by the fans, they can not deny the fact that even in Phase 4, equally intriguing supervillains were introduced.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is often criticized for killing all its villains, which is sometimes a tad bit unnecessary. As a result, the franchise has ruined the potential of some of the most scariest and most iconic villains ever introduced in the franchise. One of them was Hela, the Asgardian Goddess of Death. Though the fans loved her, they hated the MCU for not making her a major villain in the superhero universe.
Fans Are Disappointed At Marvel For Not Making Hela a Major Villain in The MCU
Portrayed byCate Blanchettin 2017’sThor: Ragnarok,Hela has cemented herself as one of the most powerful and dangerous villains in the entire MCU. Since she is the Goddess of Death, she can use necromancy to summon dead soldiers by resurrecting the once-fallen soldiers of Asgard. But that’s not all, as she can also create weapons like axes, swords, and daggers from her magic.

Moreover, her powers came from Asgard, so the closer she was to the place, the greater her power became. Fans saw a glimpse of her power when she was not only able to holdChris Hemsworth’sThor’s Mjolnir but also able to destroy it with her bare hands. Blanchett’s portrayal of Hela in the 2017 Marvel flick felt like a true threat, but she was defeated by the plot of the film.
Naturally, Marvel fans weren’t delighted, and it was evident when an X user (@MarcWillMade_It) asked on social media,“What’s the coolest someone has ever looked in a movie? Let’s not play baby”and posted a gif of Cate Blanchett’s Hela. The fandom agreed as they shared a similar opinion on social media.

I will always hold firmly that Marvels biggest miss is not making Hela a major villain across the MCU. All the material is there!!!https://t.co/zHNQi9TFgb

It’s definitely an issue that the MCU is going to run into more and more: They seem to think the only way to give the heroes a big, satisfying win is gy killing off the villain at the end. But, in doing that, they reduce their pool of potential enemies for future projects.

This is spitting facts!Marvel has just been going down, since End Game

Hela had what it takes. Truly.
Shit, bring her back. Just say she’s been floating around in space.

Yes! She had so much potential!
They’ve always had a villain problem in completely killing them off after one movie.
Hela could have been a continuous threat for Thor or others across the nine realms or cosmic space!
Or, imagine if Hela teamed with Baron Mordo for vengeance!pic.twitter.com/sTHaRODpYJ

From the responses, it is clear the fandom misses Cate Blanchett’s Hela and wants Marvel to bring back the Goddess of Death as a major villain. Since the franchise often listens to what the fans want, it might be possible that Hela might be introduced in the future, followed by a convincing explanation.
