If you’re looking for a new multiplayer game to play, and you don’t want to spend a dime, NetEase might have just the thing you’re looking for withMarvel Rivals, a free-to-play hero multiplayer game set to be released on December 6 for consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X|S) and PC.

Ahead of the game’s launch, NetEase has released the Marvel Rivals official launch trailer and information on when the game can actually be played.

Marvel Rivals' Launch Trailer Features Chrissy Costanza Performing the Theme Song

American singer and songwriter Christina Nicola Costanza, best known as the lead vocalist of rock band Against The Current, can be heard in the launch trailer performing the game’s music theme, “Rivals ‘Til the End.” If you want to hear more of the game’s music, the official Marvel Rivals soundtrack will launch on streaming platforms the same day as the game’s release.

Speaking of which, if you’re looking forward to the game, NetEase has also revealed the pre-load time, and global release info as well.

Marvel Rivals Begins Crackdown On Cheaters Before Game Even Releases

NetEase really, really, does not want people cheating in Marvel Rivals

PC players can pre-load the game client on December 4 at 7 pm ET/4 pm PT. Unfortunately, console gamers, it seems, won’t be able to pre-load the game at all. NetEase mentions, “Console players, hang tight! Your download will unlock on launch day on December 6th, 2024!”

In terms of release, Marvel Rivals should be available on both consoles and PC on December 5 at 7 pm ET/4 pm PT, since it’ll be December 6 in Asia by then (aren’t we glad for timezones, right?).

The hero multiplayer game will feature full crossplay, so expect a large number of players at launch after the warm closed beta reception.

NetEase’s official game description of the multiplayer title states, “In Marvel Rivals, players can look forward to choosing heroes split into three distinct roles based on their unique power inclinations: Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist. They’ll be free to pick their preferred role and hero, teaming up with allies to create a versatile and dynamic lineup for battle. But that’s not all, as they’ll be able to reach a whole new level of team play collaboration with Team-Up Abilities, unleashing joint superpowers with their allies, tearing down the battlefield to win in exciting fights!”
