Gamma Overdrive
When having Hulk in your team, you get a gamma upgrade to your Armor Overdrive ability which increases its damage.
Requesting a teammate or friend to play Hulk is a good idea if you plan on playing Iron Man. This is because, not only do you get a Vanguard on your team, but also the gamma upgrade to Iron Man’s Armor Overdrive.

You can see the Booster effects turn green when the Team-Up is active. The additional damage doesn’t need much explaining, as the more damage you deal, the faster you can get rid of your enemies.
Remember that this Team-up ability doesn’t affect your normal attacks or ultimate. So you will still need to use your Armor Overdrive carefully, as explained in the above tips, to make the most of it.
Iron Man Counters & How To Deal With Them
Being an open target who is also alone for most of the match while in the air can make youan easy target for snipers or heroes that use hitscan weapons.
For new players, when a character has a hitscan mechanic, instead of the game using a bullet to hit the target, the game just scans the target to see whether or not it has been hit.
A goodHawkeyeis a hard counter to Iron Man. Especially when you stay in the same position for too long or make predictable movements, you will most likely be shot dead. The next troublesome hero to look out for is thePunisher. His Culling Turret can shoot you down quite easily.
Another counter for Iron Man is none other thanIron Manhimself. So keep an eye out for other flying enemies that might try sneaking up on you. Lastly, you should also pay attention toWinter Soldier,as he can hook and pull you to himself to finish you off.
Always remember that your Unibeam is your best friend in close combat. So if you catch someone getting too close to you, your alt-fire has got you covered.
Best Team Comps With Iron Man
Starting with the easiest pick, you should team up withHulk. The main reason for this is the Team-Up benefit. Hulk is also a great Vanguard who can initiate the fight and take off the heat from the rest of the team, letting the enemies focus on him while Iron Man and the rest of the team get to eliminate them.
Star-Lordis another excellent option to pair up with Iron Man. He is another character that can fly, making the enemies focus on not one but two flying enemies.
This duo works out well because Star-Lord is more of a mid-range character, so if someone tries getting too close to Iron Man, he can take care of them. Meanwhile, Iron Man can keep things in control from afar.
Finally, if you are looking for a strategist, thenMantisis the one you should go for. Her kit works well with Iron Man because she can heal him from quite some distance.
Pair this up with her ability, “Allied Inspiration”, which provides allies a damage boost. And “Spore Slumber”, which puts an enemy to sleep. These things can make it easier for Iron Man to put the enemies to rest for good.
