Game balancing inHelldivers 2has always been a polarizing topic. While a few think the game is fine the way it is, others find it too difficult and pointed against players.

One of the newer balancing changes has been introduced by Arrowhead CCO Johan Pilsestedt himself. Like many other times, people can’t seem to decide whether they hate or like this one in particular, as it greatly affects one enemy.
Helldivers 2 Gives the Rocket Devastators a Big Change
If you’ve been struggling against the Rocket Devastators inHelldivers 2, then fear no more. According to Johan Pilestedt, these enemies can now run out of ammo and the hitbox for their rocket collision has been reduced.

They’re still a force to be reckoned with, considering they have a decent amount of armor, high damage, and group together in larger numbers. Plus, they can still trackHelldiverstrying to duck behind the terrain.

These changes aren’t going to make them a piece of cake, but instead, they’ll hopefully give players a better chance of knocking them down without using up too many resources.
While enemy nerfs might sound like a good thing, the community seems split on how to react to these changes.

Some Fans Aren’t Sure These Nerfs Were Necessary
The struggle between making the game easier vs. getting goodhas been a long-standing onein theHelldivers 2community.
“Tough s**t, that’s not a me problem”: Helldivers 2 Has Painted Itself Into a Corner With Its Time-Sensitive Promise to Be Fixed
This isn’t the first time people have expressed distaste toward the developers making changes that make things easier for players.
Now we get to watch the game get ruined by the community that just wants easy mode. Wonder what excuse they’ll come up with after it tanks things even more.Interesting to see what happens to the game in coming months. Community doesn’t want what this game launched as.

Some players fear that the Arrowhead team is catering to the more casual players and will eventually makeHelldivers 2too easy.
Gives reason for support bots to roll around now. VERY GOOD. Pilestedt, this opens up the game more, allowing the enemies to be more interesting and dynaminc rather than “Shoot and walk forward! Endless power of the rocket-men!”

Others agree with the change and think it will give more utility to some ofHelldivers 2‘s other mechanics while making fights more dynamic and exciting.
Seeing how they have lasers on their arms that they fire between reloads anyway, this seems highly reasonable. Even after they shoot off their rockets they will still pose a considerable threat so it wont just be easy mode.
The Rocket Devastators still have a lot of tools up their sleeve that can easily take down players if they’re not careful. Despite needing to reload now, they can still attack in between.
These enemies are just one of the many that you’ll come across in the game. While the Automatons and Terminids get nerfs, so do the weapons thatHelldiversuse.
Do you think this nerf was necessary, or is the game making things too easy? We’d love to hear your thoughts on this issue in the comments below!
