Lies Of P carries over the Stagger feature present in many other Soulslike games. Bylearning to Stagger enemies effectively, you may make short work of even the toughest bosses in the game. But how exactly do you Stagger enemies, and what is the best method to build up Stagger effectively?
Staggering Enemies In Lies Of P
The most surefire way to build sufficient Stagger against enemies is through using acombination of Perfect Guards followed up with a Heavy Attack. Perfect Guards refers to the ability toblock an enemy’s attack without taking chip damage. To perform a Perfect Guard,hit the Guard input just before an enemy lands a blowon you. If done correctly, a red flash and a unique sound cue should appear, and you should notice that you have taken no damage as a result. Perfect Guarding also has the additional benefit of building up Stagger on your opponents, but it often gives you enough time tofollow up with a Heavy Attack- furthering added to the Stagger effect.
Through performing subsequent Perfect Guards and Heavy attacks, you will be able to accumulate more Stagger. You will know that an enemy is ready to be Staggered once theirhealth bar is outlined in white. From here,perform a Charged Heavy Attackon the enemy toput them into the Stagger state. Once Staggered, you can follow up with aFatal Attack by using a standard attack when facing the dazed enemy- just like you would if you were behind them. Effectively building up Stagger through this method may take a bit of practice.
There are also a few ways to improve your ability to Stagger opponents. Firstly, upgrading the P-Organ provides a tonne of benefits including increasing your Staggerable Window. The Destruction Grindstone is a great item to use in this regard also, as it temporarily increases weapon attack Stagger.
