Once you’re in the Lava Cave, you should look on the walls for stones with a reddish hue to them. They’ll also look a little smoother than the other stones you can mine.These usually aren’t on the ceiling, so you shouldn’t have to climb all the way up there to get them. Once you’ve located them, use your blue pickaxe to chip away at it to collect your Rough Ruby.
