Kaguya-sama: Love is Warhas received numerous announcements in the last few days, including an official release date for the movie adaptation. Sadly, there have also been some heart-wrenching announcements for fans as well, as it was recently announced that the manga of the series is finally coming to an end after running for successful seven and a half years, with its last chapter released on November 2nd.

After the release of the last chapter, the writer of the series, Aka Akasaka, decided to share one more piece of terrible news with the fans regarding his retirement as an illustrator. However, Akasaka did confirm he’d still be working as an author.
The news comes directly from theofficial Twitter accountof Aka Akasaka, sharing the news of his retirement with a note thanking his fans for supporting his work for so many years. He further shared his regret regarding the weekly serialization, which didn’t go as planned and how he considered himself weak as a manga artist. Fans would definitely deny it, as we have seen his exceptional work in so many manga series, especially in Kaguya-sama: Love is War.
He then shared in the note the news regarding his work in Kaguya-sama as his last one and taking retirement as a manga artist. But fortunately, he assured the fans that he would still be working as an author. Finally, he writes that he plans to continue painting as a hobby.

During an end credits scene in the latest episode of Kaguya-sama, the news regarding the special announcement was made and was later confirmed that the new project is regarding the upcoming film of the series. Recently, A-1 Pictures confirmed December 17th as the release date for the film in the theatre before being released on television. The original staff of the series will return for the movie as well, as it will act as a direct sequel to the third season.
