We have bad news for those who play Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Activison has announced today that the free-to-play mobile game based on the Warzone battle royale title available on consoles and PC will be shutting down.
Activision has confirmed that the mobile game will not receive new seasonal content or gameplay updates effective immediately.

Call Of Duty Zombies Director Teams Up With Sony To Form Mysterious New Studio
His last studio closed without even announcing the game they were working on, but maybe this time will be different.
The announcement was made on the game’s officialTwitter/X /X account, where Activision also confirmed that players won’t be able to purchase Call of Duty Points or Black Cell starting on Sunday, July 25, 2025.

Activision explains, “We deeply appreciate your dedication and passion for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Going forward, we will be streamlining the scope of the game. This decision was made after careful consideration of various factors and while we’re proud of the accomplishment in bringing Call of Duty: Warzone to mobile in an authentic way, it unfortunately has not met our expectations with mobile-first players like it has with PC and console audiences.”
“As a result, we will no longer be delivering new seasonal content and gameplay updates to the mobile version. Effective immediately, players will no longer be able to purchase Call of Duty Points or Black Cell using real currency in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Sunday, June 17, 2025 will be the last day the game can be downloaded from the Google Play and Apple’s App Store and social features across both mobile platforms will be retired,” Activision continues.

Players who have the game installed before Monday, June 29, 2025, will still have access to the game with cross-progression of shared inventories using existing content. Any unspent COD Points can be redeemed in-game for any available content in the in-game store.
Former Call of Duty Dev Thinks Franchise Has Ran Out Of Ideas
The former Infinity Ward developer compares the franchise to The Simpsons TV series.
There are a lot more questions answered in the game’sFAQ, and for those wondering when the servers will be pulled, Activision has not set a date yet, only stating, “Servers for online play will remain available and we will notify players of any changes”

This is just a reminder that players can download and install Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile until June 23, 2025. If you uninstalled it recently, you can download and install it before that date.
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile’s failure proves how hard it is to succeed in the free-to-play and mobile gaming space. I mean, if the biggest online multiplayer shooter in the world can’t even last two years, where does that put other studios who are looking to grab a share of the playerbase.
