Jujutsu Kaisenhas earned massive popularity in the last few years. Gege Akutami’s magnum opus secured a position at the top of Shuiesha’s Manga Plus’ Year-end Rankings. It introduced two of the strongest characters in anime history, and the fans have always pitched them together. It finally happened when Satoru Gojo faced Ryomen Sukuna in a death battle.
The fight ended after Ryomen Sukuna triumphed over Satoru Gojo after he killed him. Currently, in theJujutsu Kaisenmanga, Sukuna is wreaking havoc, and there is no way to stop him. But the question that lingers in the mind of the fans is how Sukuna was sealed and split into 20 different Cursed Objects if he was the strongest sorcerer 1000 years back.
Ryomen Sukuna’s Past Is A Mystery
Ryomen Sukuna is known as the King of the Curses. Initially, he was one of the major antagonists alongside Kenjaku. But now thatKenjakuis dead, he solely holds that title. After killing Satoru Gojo, there is no one that can challenge him and even more so because he has found his original form of four hands and two faces, from a thousand years back.
A thousand years ago, during the Golden Age of Jujutsu Sorcery, he hailed the strongest Jujutsu sorcerers, and people feared him due to his evil nature. He killed most of the Jujutsu sorcerers, and there was no one to pose a threat to him. It is thought that he died out of old age and became a Cursed Spirit. He was so powerful that people either worshipped him or feared his existence.
He was merciless, cruel, and loved to kill people. When Kashimo Hajime asked him how he got so strong, he said that he did not know. The only thing he knew was that he was an unwanted child.Gege Akutaminever revealed much about his characters, which is a side that has been criticized. For the moment, Sukuna’s past is still a mystery to the Jujutsu Kaisen fans.
Mystery Behind Ryomen Sukuna Getting Sealed inJujutsu Kaisen
There is no proper information on who, or how Ryomen Sukuna was sealed into 20 separate Cursed Objects. Ryomen Sukuna is a Cursed Spirit, so it is most likely that when he was sealed, he died and was reborn as a Cursed Spirit. He was stronger than his human form, and no one dared to challenge him. So, how was the King of Curses sealed a thousand years ago?
There was never any kind of proper light shed on this matter, but the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom believed that a few strong Jujutsu sorcerers gathered and split his soul and divided them into Cursed Objects. It was a rational approach since they could not defeat Sukuna in a battle. There is no proper information on this matter. Moreover, it was not even mentioned whether he was sealed as a human or a Cursed Spirit and everything is based on assumption.
In the present,Yuji Itadorimanaged to consume one of the Cursed fingers of Sukuna and became his vessel. Then went on to consume 17 more. After that Sukuna tricked him and possessed Megumi Fushiguro and killed Satoru Gojo. Fans expect that more will be revealed about Sukuna in the future. But as of now, no one except Gege Akutami knows how Sukuna was sealed.
