Just days ago, the 55-year-old’s first-ever children’s book, Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life debuted and grabbed the attention of the world.

In an interview withPeople, the actress revealed that she wanted to write about something she loved: her rescue animals. In fact, her love for her pets even led her to open The Clydeo Fund to help support animal shelters along with her social media posts.

It’s so hard, but it helps; they get seen and rescued. It’s almost impossible to keep up with it. But I’m constantly updated that so-and-so got rescued. So all I keep thinking is if one gets out, that’s all I care about.

Although Aniston might find it a little emotionally taxing to share updates on various shelter animals, she has no plans of stopping any time soon. In fact, her new children’s book even took inspiration from one of her own rescues. In fact, the actress has two of her own, Lord Chesterfield and Clyde. The two dogs follow the actress’ first two dogs, Norman, who passed away in 2011, and Dolly, who followed in 2019.

In an interview withPeople, theMurder Mysterystar opened up about how her love for animals began with Norman, a Welsh Corgi-Terrier mix who became her faithful companion for over 15 years.

Norman was my first. And it was just a fluke. He was in a scene with Joey and Chandler on Friends when they left baby Ben on the bus. They were running through the streets and ran into a dog walker that had all these dogs. Norman was one of them, and I just fell in love.

After the scene was done, Aniston recalled that the trainers had told her that Norman would not be coming back. That was when the star realized she had to have him. The 55-year-old stated,“I jokingly said, ‘I’ll take him.’ And they said, ‘Absolutely.’ And then I kind of had that moment of, ‘Oh God, am I really?’ And then that was it. I got the addiction to dogs and what they bring to you.”

Although Aniston’s love for dogs began with just one, the actress has now expanded it to cover every rescue and shelter dog in need.
