Hayden Christensen took over the role of Anakin Skywalker starting in the 2002 filmAttack of the Clonesand has reprised the role numerous times, including the Disney+ series where he encounters his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, in live-action. The dynamic between the two characters has been deeply explored during the events ofThe Clone Warsin the animated film and TV series.

Christensen, however, did not have the opportunity to fully examine that side of his character until the 2023 series. In a recent interview, the actor reflected on returning to the iconic role in the series, as he expressed his gratitude for the chance to delve into this aspect of Anakin’s character.
Hayden Christensen Reflected on Revisiting Anakin’s Relationship with Ahsoka
In a recent conversation with theSAG-AFTRA Foundation,theStar Warsactor reflected on exploring his character Anakin Skywalker’s dynamic with his Padawan Ahsoka in the franchise.“It really was trying to honor the relationship that was so thoroughly developed in ‘The Clone Wars,”he said.
Talking about his character depiction inAttack of the ClonesandRevenge of the Sith, he said,“He’s always sort of very consumed by his own emotions and trying to figure out his own emotional state.”He explained that the series allowed him to tap into that side of the character that he couldn’t in the prequels.

For me it was very interesting because of the way it changes Anakin’s disposition … there’s a slightly different slant to the character because now he has a Padawan … and that was really interesting to explore and trying to present a slightly more wise.. a stillness I was able to explore that I wasn’t able to do in the prequels.
Hayden Christensenalso shared that he fully immersed himself into this new dimension of his character by revisiting projects that explored his relationship with Ahsoka and the character arc such asThe Clone WarsandStar Wars Rebels.

Dawson also shared that there is a possibility that the show could bring Anakin Skywalker back in the form of a“force ghost,” a concept that has previously been explored in the films. She further shared,
We’ve gotten to see from the films now into the show that he’s been able to become this force ghost that brings him back to Anakin, who at the end of the day, when he went and ascended to that space, that’s what he became.

The actress also highlighted how Anakin’s legacy is reflected through Ahsoka, as she expressed her hopes that the showrunner, Dave Filoni, would explore the relationship in the future.AhsokaSeason 2 does not have a certain release date.
