Valorant’snew act is live, and it has surprised some players with its rank placements, as many people are complaining about having been placed in ranks way lower than their peak in the previous episodes.

However, this will change with the next act of this episode, as this is a complete episode reset and it relies heavily on the current performance of players in the 5 matchmaking games that players are supposed to play at the start of any new episode.
Valorant Players Need To Stop Complaining
Many players are blaming Riot’s ranking system in the current episode ofValorant, whereas they need to focus on performing better in the placement games. The previous episode’s peak rank has little to do with the placement in a new act, as it completely resets the graph and allows players to start afresh.
Many ascendant and diamond players are currently stuck in gold and platinum, and they are blaming Riot for their poor performance in the placement games. However, it is important to note that currently we are in act 1 of episode 9, and things will get a little smoothed out with acts 2 and 3 as players adjust to their ranks according to their elo.

People need to stop reacting to their placements as if it were an act reset, which pretty much keeps the rank similar to the previous acts.

Many people are currently placed lower than their previous ranks, which for some players might be unfair as they have been consistent with their performance but are being dragged down solely because of the poor performance of their teammates.

Having said thatValorantis a team-based game that requires coordination between players, which players in the lower elo do not tend to do, and that is one of the biggest causes for concern for some of the better players out there.
Players Will Reach Where They Deserve To Be Soon
Act 1 of any new episode is usually the one where people find them placed lower than expected, which negatively affects the morale of players, but as their elo stabilizes and they play continuously, their progress becomes stable in acts 2 and 3.
There are, however, some players who get hard-stuck on one rank and find it difficult to get out of their elo hell with no fault of their own but due to the skill discrepancy between them and their teammates.

This usually settles as bad players fall consistently, whereas better players prevail and see a gradual climb in the game as the episode progresses toward the next acts. Patience is the key while grinding for rank-up in Valorant, and players need to keep that in mind before pointing fingers at Riot.
