A cinematic universe based on theWarhammer 40Kgame produced by Games Workshop was firstannouncedto be in development at Amazon MGM Studios in 2022.Henry Cavillwas announced to be attached as the star and executive producer of the series.
Almost two years later, development on the series has stalled and according to a report fromCollider, Amazon could lose rights to the wargames. The report revealed that the project would only move forward if Amazon and Games Workshop settled upon common creative guidelines.
The initial agreement reportedly gave one year for the two parties to hash out the details of the creative guidelines. However, that period is supposed to end in December 2024, meaning there are less than five months left for Amazon to finalize the details and save the project from obscurity.
