On this, Hamill shared a short tale about how alert Ford was while filming.

According to Mark Hamill, the film was shot out of order, so they had to record several of the sequences that occurred after the trash compactor sequence before even entering the compactor. So, Hamill reasoned that since they had been swimming in trash, his hair should be wet and dirty. After this, the actor mimicked Harrison Ford’s response, adding:
Hey kid, it ain’t that kind of movie. If people are looking at your hair, we’re all in big trouble.
The banter and mimicking appeared to be fairly authentic and hilarious, and the audience laughed heartily at it. However, by pointing out this inconsistency, Hamill was simply ensuring that the sequence was depicted appropriately and in accordance with the script.
