“I’m about to switch consoles”: Xbox Choking With A Second Server Meltdown This Month Has Got Fans Ready To Finally Jump Ship
The game’s early access release will be exclusive to Xbox Game Pass and PC platforms, much like the originalSubnauticaand its spin-off,Below Zero, which initially launched on these platforms. Funnily enough though, This isn’t the first time PlayStation users have missed out on anticipated survival games.
I heard in the Subnautica server that Sony/Playstation doesn’t allow Early Access games. For full release though it’ll definitely be on PlayStation.

Valheimis a notable example, having been in early access since 2021 without a PlayStation release. The game’s added release on Xbox Game Pass makes it even more appealing to Xbox owners. They’ll be able to play the game’s early access at no extra cost, alongside titles likeFableandFBC: Firebreakin 2025.
We have never been more back

PlayStation owners will have to wait and see if the game eventually makes its way to Sony’s console. The originalSubnauticaandBelow Zerodid eventually get released on PS4 and PS5, so there is hope that history will repeat itself.
There May Be Hope For PlayStation In The Future
Developed by Iron Gate Studio,Valheimhas sold over 5 million copies and has a record-breaking number of concurrent players on Steam. Despite its success on PC and Xbox, the game has yet to be announced for PlayStation or Nintendo Switch.
BothSubnautica 2andValheimsharea similar co-op survival structure. Fans have felt the latter’s absence from PlayStation. But not all hope is lost. The developers of the Norse-themed survival game have hinted at the possibility of a PlayStation release once the game exits early access, which could happen by 2025.

Xbox Series X Mid-Gen Refresh Is A Glorious Sight To See After Seeing Sony Shoot Itself In The Foot With PS5 Pro
The current PlayStation ecosystem does not accept early-access games as readily as Xbox does, which might explain this delay. Still, onceValheimfully launches, it’s expected that the PlayStation audience will finally have the chance to explore its Viking wilderness in all its glory.
Microsoft’s Game Preview program and Game Pass service make it easier for developers to launch unfinished games while still getting a player base that provides feedback. This strategy has worked well for games likeSubnauticaandValheim, but it leaves PlayStation users feeling left out sometimes.
Do you think either of these games will eventually get a PS5 release? Let us know in the comments!
