The fourth season of theTrue Detectiveseries,Night Country, has received backlash from both fans and show creator Nic Pizzolatto. Starring Jodie Foster and Kali Reis, the latest installment was helmed by Issa López.

Although Pizzolatto was credited in the series as executive producer, he previously revealed he had no involvement in the writing and creative direction. He has also been very vocal about his aversion to the fourth season.

Amid all the hate and criticism thatTrue Detective: Night Countryendured, basketball star Marcus Jordan expressed his own obsession with the show. In one of hisTwitterposts, he wrote:

It has got fans sharing their own theories and predictions on social media, and amid the hate from the series creator, directorIssa Lópezremained graceful with her response viaVulture:
“I believe that every storyteller has a very specific, peculiar, and unique relation to the stories they create, and whatever his reactions are, he’s entitled to them. That’s his prerogative. I wrote this with profound love for the work he made and love for the people that loved it.”
