When theBleach: Thousand-Year Blood Waranime was first released in 2022, fans were so impressed by the series and the modifications that it made to the original storyline from Tite Kubo’s manga that the anime series was considered by many to be better than theBleachmanga. This was even admitted by Kubo himself.

In an interview, Kubo revealed that theBleach: Thousand-Year Blood Waranime did a better job of portraying the story and developing the presence of characters compared to the anime. He even pointed out the two characters who were not focused much on in the manga, but the anime did a good job of redeeming them with the help of voice actors.
The two characters in the discussion are Ryūnosuke Yuki and Shino Madarame, who served as the replacement for Zennosuke Kurumadani as the guardian of Karakura Town. Although these characters do not hold much significance to the story, the anime still manages to make them relevant and more important in the plotline.

Kubo stated:
“From the beginning, every cast member has been spot on and has an incredible grasp of the characters. Take for example, Daiki Yamashita, who plays Ryunosuke, and Asami Seto, who plays Shino. Their characters don’t appear very much in the original manga, but I think they’ve been fleshed out thanks to these VAs.”
Tite Kubopointed out that both of these characters do not appear much in the originalBleachmanga, but the anime redeemed these characters with the help of voice actors Daiki Yamashita and Asami Seto. Their influence on the role was so great that even though they were not important to the story, their presence was felt byBleachfans.

BleachVAs Did a Phenomenal Job With The Characters
Kubo even pointed out that because Shino and Ryūnosuke did not have any important roles in the narrative, he never came up with their backstories. Butthe voice actors of theBleach: Thousand-Year Blood Waranimehad a good grasp on their characters, and they certainly were able to bring it out in the series.
“It’s the impression I get from hearing their voices. I personally had no idea what voices would fit them since I didn’t really come up with many backstories for these characters. But the VAs had a good grasp of their characters. It was also refreshing to have new faces join the show. So I thought all of that was really great.”
