As per theBBC, the suspect had fired from an elevated position with an AR-style rifle, while witnesses on site told they had seen the attacker close by minutes after the rally started. As the shooter’s identity is now being investigated, Trump was taken to the hospital with an injured ear.
The former President, via his social media platform, Truth Social (viaNBC) later released his first statement, stating that his ear was injured due to a bullet wound and thanked the Secret Service for their immediate action.
