Long-time comic book writer Rob Liefeld, known for creating the character of Deadpool, is set to ride off into the sunset, announcing his retirement from the comic book industry after 33 Years. While there is one lastDeadpooltale Liefeld is eying to release in the summer of 2024 before stepping down, this will not stop him from enjoying more of the wisecracking fourth-wall-breaking anti-hero.

But it seems, MCU might be saving the best for last per Rob Liefeld’s statements. Being the co-creator of Deadpool, it’s reasonable that Liefeld had some special access to the story for the threequel, as last year, he revealed there were a lot of surprises that weren’t made public.

And even half a year later, it seems these surprises still haven’t escaped the editing room, as Liefeld stressed that he hopesDeadpool 3could shape the MCU in a new direction. He toldTHR:
“I saw some crazy sh-t, and none of that has made its way out,”Liefeld teases.“I was really excited by what I was seeing. Fans want Deadpool 3 to represent a turning point for Marvel. I’m really hoping that this takes Marvel into new heights and puts them on a new direction. I’m as excited as everybody else.”
Considering how tumultuous the past few years have been for Marvel and CBMs’ in general, fans will hope the wisecracking anti-hero brings the cinematic giant back on track.

While many expressed that they would love to see the acclaimed writer getting the Stan Lee treatment and have a cameo in the upcoming threequel, to fans’ dismay, this won’t be the case. While Rob Liefeld is excited about the upcomingRyan Reynolds-led threequel, stating that he’ll keep on enjoying the character, the writer confirmed thatDeadpool 3won’t comprise his cameo.
“Stan Lee just set that bar.Fans just want to see the comic creator reflected. I understand it, and I’m happy to receive that excitement.”He continued,” I’ll continue to enjoy the character, but I feel like I’ll have told all of the Deadpool that I need to share.”
