Harry Potterauthor JK Rowling has been trending all this while after being accused of transphobia, following her comments. While the world slammed her, Rowling weathered all odds. But now, she’s not alone on people’s hate list, for even pop singer Adele joined her, for the most absurd reason.

Adele

According to reports, Adele was accused of transphobia for declaring her love for womanhood, at a gender-neutral awards show. Making the remarks at Brit Awards 2022, the singer made a whole lot of buzz and turned into a controversial star, after people were quick to accuse her of transphobia.

JK Rowling Accused of Transphobia Following Comments

For years, theHarry PotterauthorJK Rowlinghas been facing accusations and criticism for being allegedly transphobic. It all started after she retweeted an op-ed piece in 2020, about “people who menstruate.” Thereafter, hertweetfaced intense backlash, despite her support towards the trans community.

“I respect every trans person’s right to live any way that feels authentic and comfortable to them. I’d march with you if you were discriminated against on the basis of being trans. At the same time, my life has been shaped by being female. I do not believe it’s hateful to say so.”

Following that tweet, as JK Rowling faced criticism and backlash for her unfiltered remarks, the author then shared a lengthy post on her website and the link to that on herXaccount, with the caption “TERF Wars”. That’s when things started getting messy as Rowling deliberately involved herself in a controversial and perilous zone.

Thereafter, JK Rowling not only lost fans, but even a few of herHarry Potteractors went against her. However, despite realizing the gravity of the situation, Rowling continued her battle for what she considered right and just.

Adele won the Artist of the Year award at Brits Award 2022

This repeated action on X led JK Rowling to turn into a controversial figure from the fan-favorite author of the Wizarding World. But surprisingly, she wasn’t the only celebrity who got cornered for expressing herself, even Adele joined Rowling.

Adele’s Love for Womanhood Allegedly Got her Labeled Transphobic

In 2022, during the Brit Awards which was declared a gender-neutral show,Adelemade a remark similar to JK Rowling about womanhood, which landed her on the same dangerous grounds as the author. Walking the red carpet of the show, the “Queen of the BRITS” took home the Artist of the Year, which was a newly created category, previously known as Best Male and Best Female Artist Award.

“I understand why the name of this award haschangedbut I really love being a woman and being a female artist. I do! I’m really proud of us, I really, really am.”

Making the remark viaPage Six, as she took home the award, Adele simply expressed her love for womanhood. However, her comments quickly made it to social media where netizens were divided over the intentions of her remarks, after a now-deleted post from@OhHeyJacobcalled her TERF. Thereafter, people were quick to accuse her of transphobia, for simply declaring her love for womanhood at a gender-neutral show. Meanwhile, others were trying hard to stand beside the singer.

Who’d have thought#Adelewas a transphobe and would use her platform to call for the destruction of the trans community. Especially the confused teenagers.

adele is getting called transphobic because she said she loves being a woman… this makes zero sense

The Adele fake controversy is a perfect example of weaponized transphobia through disinformation and social media amplification. A tweet by a anonymous transphobic account led to national news attempting to smear trans people.

Why the hate for Adele? because she said she’s proud 2 b a woman -that’s not transphobic! Get a grip! I’m proud to be a woman, proud my body has given me 4 babies and fed them. It is not a crime to be proud of who and what you are – & never will be!#IStandWithAdele

“TERF” is a slur used by those who hate women. So it was obvious they’d hate Adele & brand her a “TERF” just for saying she loves being female.Hopefully the MSM don’t try to demonise Adele like they tried to demonise JK Rowling.#IStandWithAdelehttps://t.co/A2gd63SmLf

You think Adele’s a ‘terf’ because she wanted to be classed as a female artist? Get a grip with your first world misogynistic rhetoric.

A few netizens blindly followed the X account criticizing Adele, and branding her TERF, while claimingthat they wouldn’t be spending a cent on her show. Others boldly defended and begged for people to understand her statement’s intention. Few even claimed that the whole controversy is a perfect example of weaponized transphobia. With majority of people being on her side, the singer gracefully rose to her popularity, despite the controversies and getting branded transphobic for the most absurd reason.
